When Matt Lofy was hired to lead the Worthington Area Chamber of Commerce, he emphasized the need for individuals, businesses and even the community to keep moving and growing.
He meant that in a literal sense for the chamber as well. His offices, as of Friday, March 3, are moving out of the AAA building, 90 E. Wilson Bridge Rd., Ste. 100.
The chamber is adopting a hybrid model while establishing a presence inside COhatch – the Hardware Store, in Old Worthington at 659 High St.
“This move signifies a great day for our chamber,” said Lofy in a press release.
“The decision to downsize speeds up our recovery from the challenges of the past few years and positions us to better serve our business community.”
The move was made possible because chamber leaders were able to secure a full sublease of the chamber offices on East Wilson Bridge Road, allowing for a growing Worthington business to move into the space. Prominence Enterprise, a marketing company, is moving into the chamber’s old space, Lofy said.
With the new hybrid model, the chamber office will be fully remote on Mondays and Fridays, and available at COhatch Tuesdays through Thursdays.
Lofy and administrative assistant Crystal Evans said It is highly recommended to call or email ahead to ensure someone will be available to meet.
“We love our office that we’ve called home since 2017, but the reality is we are a much smaller team and up against different circumstances now,” said Lofy.
“This was a priority set by our board upon my hiring and one that as of March 6 begins a new chapter in our chamber’s story.”
Community Shred Days will still be held the first Wednesday of each month from 90 E. Wilson Bridge Road and private drop-offs will be available on limited days and times throughout the month, but must be scheduled in advance.
Regular chamber meetings will be hosted at COhatch or within meeting spaces throughout greater Worthington.
The official mailing address for the Worthington Area Chamber is 659 High St., Mailbox 21, Worthington, OH 43085.
Lofy was named director of the chamber in late summer 2021, after an extensive search by the chamber board to replace longtime leader Kathryn Paugh.
